Based on SCImago data, throughout 1996-2016, the number of global indexed publications in Indonesia reached 54.146 publications. When compared to Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, Indonesia's ranking was still far below the three ASEAN countries. In 2016, at the world level, Indonesia was ranked 45t
