Erbium (Er3+) doped phosphate glasses with chemical formula x(70-x) P2O5 – 10 Bi2O3 -10 Na2O – 10 Gd2O3 : x Er2O3(x= = 0.05 ; 0.1 ; 0.5 ; 1.0 ; 3.0 mol%) were prepared by a melted-quenching process.
