Abstract
Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) penalties are studied for continuous-time additive white Gaussian noise channels with white and Wiener phase noise. For white phase noise, recent results showing an unavoidable SNR penalty are extended to include uncorrelated, instead of independent, phase-noise samples.
